Chef Dane DeMarco reinvents nostalgic comfort-food favorites with elegance and humor at this feel-good upscale grill house in Haddonfield. The menu is seasonal, but note that on previous visits the menu has included the likes of Salisbury steak made with ground bison and served with rainbow carrots and a mahogany demiglace, and chicken croquettes livened up by hot honey and pink peppercorns. Stop in any time, and you’re likely to find sophisticated takes on wedge salads, hamburgers and mac and cheese. Critic Craig LaBan praises the “wit and contemporary swagger” of Gass & Main, where mid-20th century cafeteria kitsch is dragged happily into the modern age.
