Philly police search Olney home in connection with a missing person’s case, law enforcement sources say
Eugene Albert Horsch, 44, was taken into custody by federal law enforcement officers on June 19 after U.S Park Service officers stopped him near 6th & Market Streets in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia police are searching an Olney home after federal agents arrested a man last week and recovered an identification card linked to a missing woman, according to law enforcement sources.
Eugene Albert Horsch, 44, was arrested by federal law enforcement officers on June 19 after U.S. Park Police stopped him near 6th and Market Streets in Center City, the sources said. Police recovered two firearms with obliterated serial numbers and a fake federal law enforcement badge in his car, the sources said.
A woman with Horsch produced a phony ID card in the name of a woman who had been reported missing in 2023, said the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.
A U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration official confirmed that the agency has been searching Horsch’s home in the 400 block of West Chew Avenue alongside Philadelphia police since last Friday, but declined to provide details about the nature of the searches or what has been found in the house because it remains an ongoing investigation. A search of the property continued Friday.
Philadelphia police officials declined to respond to questions about the case Friday morning. A spokesperson for the FBI Philadelphia field office did not respond to a request for comment.
Court records show Horsch was charged with illegal gun possession and drug crimes, and is currently being held on $500,000 bail at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
Jerome Brown, an attorney for Horsch, said he was unaware of the police investigation but confirmed Horsch was in custody.
Horsch has been previously convicted on drug manufacturing and assault charges, court records show. In March, he was charged with aggravated assault and jailed until May, when the charges were withdrawn, court records show.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
