Two Philadelphia men have been charged with vehicular homicide and related offenses for speeding and causing a five-car collision on the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge in December that killed another driver, authorities said Tuesday.

Jonathan Ramos, 28, of Feltonville, and Brandon Moore, 23, of Oxford Circle, driving separate vehicles, were speeding as they headed westbound to Philadelphia from New Jersey when the crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Dec. 28, authorities said.

Moore’s Dodge Charger struck the passenger side of Ramos’ Jeep Grand Cherokee, which then crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on with a Honda Civic, driven by Gerardo Francisco Perez Martinez, 35, of Camden, who was killed in the crash, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Five other people were taken to a hospital for treatment, authorities said.

An investigation determined that Moore’s vehicle reached 112 mph, and Ramos’ vehicle at one point was traveling at 106 mph, the Prosecutor’s Office said. The posted speed limit on the bridge is 45 mph.

After the crash, Ramos got out of his vehicle and walked away from the scene, prosecutors said. In addition to vehicular homicide, Ramos was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and driving with a suspended license. He surrendered Monday, is jailed in Burlington County, and faces a detention hearing on Friday, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Moore was taken into custody in January and was released after an initial court appearance.
