5 Philly bars to get a special Heady Topper delivery Wednesday

In terms of cult followings built around beer, it’s tough to beat that of The Alchemist’s Heady Topper, the Vermont-based brewery’s flagship offering that has hops lovers driving from as far as South Carolina and beyond to pick up a case. But today, Heady Topper will come to us.

In terms of cult followings built around beer, it's tough to beat that of The Alchemist's Heady Topper, the Vermont-based brewery's flagship offering that has hops lovers driving from as far as South Carolina and beyond to pick up a case.

But today, Heady Topper will come to us.

In a Facebook post Tuesday night, The Alchemist confirmed that owner John Kimmich will be heading to Philly Wednesday with lead canning line operator Joel Hartman for a special delivery of 50 cases of Heady Topper distributed across five Philly bars:

The Alchemist's Facebook post indicates that the guys hope to get here around 1 p.m., with the 50 cases distributed and ready for enjoyment between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., just in time for happy hour. Each 16-ounce can will sell for $7 to $8, and each bar will get 10 cases.
