If your kids need a little primer in gingerbread house construction ahead of the holidays, have no fear — some of Philadelphia's most renowned pastry chefs are here to help.

On Sunday, Dec. 11 at Davio's, Classic Cake chef Robert Bennett, Brûlée Catering's James Rodebaugh, and Davio's pastry chef Candice Holovich will demonstrate the finer points of building a gingerbread house. Structured as a demonstration and workshop, the event will take place from noon to 3 p.m., and runs $60 per child. Adult admission is free.

Children's admission includes a a gingerbread house for decoration, edible decorations, lunch, and a meet-up with Santa Claus. Adults, meanwhile, can purchase a lunch option at $30 per person.

However, organizers ask that attendees don't come empty handed. Instead, a donation to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the form of a small, unwrapped toy is requested.
