300-room hotel proposed for 17th & Chancellor

Council to weigh $125M Hudson Hotel project

A $125 million, 300-guest room Hudson Hotel has been proposed for a property at 17th and Chancellor Sts. (the Little Pete's corner) in Center City, under an ordinance proposed by City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, says Dave Schultz of DAS Architects, in a statement that also promised "exciting food and beverage options" with "panoramic views" and two stories of shops.

Developer/builder: Clemens Construction Co.  Owner: Chancellor Hotels LLC, whose sole partner is Clemens president Stephen Pouppirt. Hudson hotels are operated by Morgan Group https://www.morganshotelgroup.com/, which also has hotels in New York (4), Vegas, Istanbul and a few other cities Target opening: 2016.

Schultz's firm also designed the Granary Apartments in the Franklin Town neighborhood, and the Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, among other s properties.
