Eric Green is new CEO at West Pharma

Sigma-Aldrich research boss headed to Exton

Eric M. Green is the new chief executive at West Pharmaceuticals, Exton, as of April 24. He will replace Donald E. Morel Jr., PhD., who will hang on as board chairman until July. West makes drug packaging and inection systems. Sales totalled $1.42 billion last year.

Green is leaving his post as president of chemical and equipment maker Sigma-Aldrich Corp.'s Research Markets business in St. Louis, and moving his family to the Philadelphia area to run West, spokeswoman Tiffany Burke told me.

He was chosen from a small group of finalists. "We were particularly impressed with his track record of growing revenue adn profit," said Morel in a statement. Morel also cited Green's record in "emerging markets, and his passion for leading people."
