When it comes to identifying government waste, there are complicated issues, like, say, whether the streets department could fill potholes faster by investing in new machinery. And then there are easy issues.

Since October, [Asia] Coney has received a $6,000 raise - to $108,000 - while still living in PHA housing and driving a PHA-supplied SUV.

Coney, you'll recall, is the leader of a nonprofit PHA tenant group and a longtime ally of Carl Greene. Now a lawsuit alleges she stole thousands of dollars. If that turns out to be true, you have to wonder how much taxpayers will see back.
