A record for Center City District Restaurant Week

The Center City District today released glowing numbers around its most recent restaurant week promotion, which had a record 132 restaurants on board.

That 11 percent increase in the number of restos contributed to a 24 percent increase in the number of diners over last year; 240,845 diners were served.

And with prices holding steady ($20 for lunch, $35 for dinner), restaurants took in 25 percent more money - $13,492,890. (Hmm. Even at a conservative 15 percent, that means a little over $2 million in tips.)

The next Center City District Restaurant Week is Jan. 20-25 and Jan. 27- Feb. 1.

Oh, and be advised that East Passyunk is planning its own restaurant week - Feb. 24 to March 2 with three-course lunch/dinner menus at $15, $25 and $35.
