Case of the missing golden ticket at Federal Donuts

Someone has a golden ticket worth free fried chicken for life. One winner has come forward.

In an inspired promotion on Saturday, July 6, Federal Donuts inserted "golden tickets" in the boxes of two fried-chicken orders.

They were worth a free half-order of chicken every week for life.

Yvette Quesada, 33, of Juniata, and Anwar Sabreen, 34, of Lawncrest, won the golden ticket at FedNuts' South Philadelphia location that afternoon.

But the ticket inserted into one of "a few hundred" orders at FedNuts' Sansom Street location had not been claimed as of 4 p.m. Sunday, according to co-owner Tom Henneman.

"I think at this point, [the winner] unknowingly threw it out," he told me. "We let everyone know constantly all day about checking boxes."

Added: A half-order (4 pieces) sells for $9 and is accompanied by a honey doughnut and Japanese pickles.
