Last call at the Coastline in Cherry Hill

The property on Brace Road will become a senior living center.

New Year's brought a few finales in the region.

Cisco's in Flourtown bowed out after 65 years.

The owners of Pizzeria Felici in Horsham decided to change it into a Taqueria Feliz after only several months.

Circles' dining room in South Philadelphia closed after nearly five years, as the Thai spot reverts to takeout/delivery.

Sunday, Jan. 3 was last call after 37 years for the Coastline on Brace Road in Cherry Hill, which opened at the height of the disco era, became a favorite hangout for Cherry Hill politicos, and more recently was primarily a weekend destination for top-40 nights and the occasional musical act.

Management politely but firmly declined to talk to an Inquirer reporter last week about the closing. The landmark filed for bankruptcy protection last June 30, and under the settlement agreed to close in early January. The liquor license will go to Woodcrest Country Club and the property will be sold to Orens Development Co., which plans to open a senior living facility on the site.

The Coastline's predecessor was a restaurant called The Farm, after an old farmhouse on the property.

DJ Robbie Rob (aka Robert Easterday) said on Facebook that he will have a new venue at which to spin in a few weeks.

When one door in Cherry Hill closes, another is about to open: There's new life coming to the building that was Top Dog and later Craft House, on Route 70 near the old Garden State Park and across the road from the old Latin Casino and its disco successor, Emerald City.

Vera Bar & Nightclub  (2310 Marlton Pike West) is looking at a mid-January opening.

Management there also is mum, for now, about exact plans.
