Two years ago, local wine seller/techie Greg Cohen launched CoffeeGuru, an app covering independent coffee shops in the United States.
He listed 2,800 entries in version 1.0.
The new version, 3.0, is out and it's been expanded to Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Paris and now covers more than 7,600 spots.
And since La Colombe signed on as a sponsor, the price has dropped to 99 cents.
3.0 has two new features:
A "news" section accessible from the home screen that covers developments in the specialty coffee world, blog posts by baristas, contests, and other coffee information. It will be continually updated.
Also, users can now upload photographs into the "details" section of any coffeehouse.
