Du Jour in Haverford to become a White Dog Cafe

Plan is to reopen in late February, said a spokeswoman for owner Marty Grims, who said the lease on Du Jour was up.

Du Jour, the cafe that opened in 2000 in Haverford Square, will close after brunch Sunday, Nov. 30 and will be renovated as a White Dog Cafe.

Plan is to reopen in late February, said a spokeswoman for owner Marty Grims, who said the lease on Du Jour was up.

Grims' holdings include the Moshulu on Penn's Landing. The Du Jour at Commerce Square (2001 Market St.) is under separate ownership and is unaffected by this move.

Grims bought into the White Dog brand in 2009, taking over the University City flagship from founder Judy Wicks and opening a branch on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne in 2011.

Grims also bought the former Peppercorn in Wayne and will refashion it into a different restaurant next spring.
