Food trucks to cater Kenney's inauguration party

In a first, Kenney, a supporter of the city's food truck movement while in City Council, had his people work with the Philadelphia Mobile Food Association to do the hiring. (The truck owners will be paid as a catering event.)

Mayoral balls tend to be lavish with a side of fun. Wilson Goode, a button-down sort of guy, had a black-tie event for his ball at the old Civic Center in 1988. Guests feasted on the standard roast beef and pasta - after eating mini-hoagies at a buffet, during which Goode, his wife, and kids entered the room to a kazoo serenade of "Happy Days Are Here Again.")

The menu is as follows:

Sweet Box: mini cupcakes-red velvet, vanilla vanilla, chocolate peanut butter

UndrGrnd Donuts: French toast, wake up (chocolate/vanilla swirl, espresso dust), and vanilla with jimmies. (Or Jimmy's, as the night might call for.)

The Cow and The Curd: Wisconsin-style battered fried cheese curds with sriracha mayo, chipotle ranch, or smoky ketchup dipping sauce

The Tot Cart: plain tots, "New Bay" tots, drunk cheese tots, sweet chili ketchup tots

Baby Blues BBQ: pulled pork sliders, brisket sliders

SeoulFull Philly: Korean cheesesteaks, spicy chicken sandwich

Foolish Waffles: boneless buttermilk fried chicken glazed with chili honey, topped with cabbage slaw and bourbon pickled jalapenos served on a Brussels waffle

Innovative Catering: meatball sandwich, sausage sandwich with peppers

Taco Mondo: smoked mushroom cabbage with avocado chimichurri, gold Angus beef with pico de gallo, cheese, chili lime crema and lettuce, pork al pastor-roasted pork shoulder with pineapple salsa
