Fuel coming to the Main Line

Rocco Cima said he has signed a lease at 5 W. Lancaster Ave., the former Sneaky Pete's athletic-apparel store, and hopes to open in January.

Fuel - the fitness-focused cafe whose dishes clock in with 500 calories or fewer - will add its first suburban location.

Rocco Cima said he has signed a lease at 5 W. Lancaster Ave., the former Sneaky Pete's athletic-apparel store, and hopes to open in January.

This location will be his largest - easily dwarfing his debut on East Passyunk Avenue and the newer branch on Walnut Street in Center City. The shops include waiter and counter service and a juice bar.

He said Morrissey Design would incorporate familiar elements into the look, while adding new ones that will be featured in future franchise locations.

"I've been looking out there for a while," Cima said. "I get requests constantly from people asking me to open there." He said that even with so many yoga studios and gyms in that part of the area, "I didn't see many healthy options."

Ardmore seems to be doing OK.

Work is progressing on the prepared-foods shop from South Philadelphia's Dante & Luigi's at 12 W. Lancaster Ave., the former Luciano's Pizza. A hair salon is taking the front of the building.

The former Fellini Cafe is still on the market.
