Garage North: Fishtown tunes up with an auto-themed corner bar

Roll-up doors have been added to the old Penn Treaty Market to give the space a former garage vibe.

It's also across the intersection from Johnny Brenda's, Joe's Steaks, and Root, and near the Fillmore, Barcade, Fette Sau, and Frankford Hall.

Roll-up doors have been added to the building to give it a former garage vibe. Skee-Ball and shuffleboard are among the games. Ten taps, plenty of cans.

The original Garage has no kitchen - just a food cart staffed by a rotating cast of chefs - but North has a full kitchen whose service area resembles a food cart, complete with lift-up door. The chefs also will vary.

Evenchik scoured flea markets and swap meets for automotive items. Over the cart, the front end of an old Ford Prefect juts out. There's also a Triumph TR5 Trophy motorcycle hanging overhead.

Hours: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. weekdays, noon to 2 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
