Gold Standard Cafe in a state of flux
It's on the market, as its owners cite poor health.
After their deal with Penn expired in 2003, Harman and Whittacre opened an Italian restaurant, Abbraccio, at 47th and Warrington, which closed in 2009. Ball died in 2007.
Harman and Whittacre revived the Gold Standard Cafe name in 2009 at its current incarnation at 48th Street amd Baltimore Ave.
They also briefly operated a Gold Standard branch at 20th and Fitzwater Streets.
