Quincy's Lobster Rolls: Taste of Maine on Main Line

The restaurant opens Monday, Jan. 20 in Swedesford Plaza.

Last year, the Phily area got Luke's Lobster, an eatery devoted to that New England specialty, the lobster roll.

Now it's the burbs' turn with the debut of Quincy's Original Lobster Rolls, replacing a bike shop next to Chinnar in Swedesford Plaza, off Route 202 in Berwyn (414 W. Swedesford Rd., 484-328-3905).

Maine on the Main Line? At least in spirit. None of the partners - who are in other businesses but wanted to enter the fast-casual restaurant sector with a recipe they've refined - claims Maine ties. There's no "Quincy."

One of the dining room's walls is done up to resemble a Down East fishing shack, while the opposite wall houses a gigantic photo mural of Bass Harbor, on Mount Desert Island. Order at the counter, sit with a number, and a runner totes the food to the table.

The rolls ($10.95 for the original version) are simple: lobster meat sourced to Maine, a seasoning including lemon butter, and a bit of mayo on a toasted, split-top roll. In a more contemporary twist, you can add tomato and bacon to a roll for a buck additional. They import Wicked Whoopie Pies, Cape Cod chips and Hurricane Soups. Menu is here.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
