Thursday, April 9 will be last call at the McFadden's location at 461 N. Third St. after 14 years.
The bar - whose location at Citizens Bank Park and its sister operations, Tavern on Broad and Johnny Utah's next door, are unaffected - posted the impending closing on its Facebook:
"McFadden's 3rd St. will be closing their doors today after a long 14 year run in their Northern Liberties location. The company will not be renewing their lease, instead focusing on opening a new bar and restaurant in a different Philadelphia location.
"CEO John Sullivan quoted, 'It's a bittersweet day for this McFadden's but we're excited about our new business ventures.'
"McFadden's wants to deeply thank their loyal patrons, friends and family for all of their support over the past 14 years. Although it's a tough day on 3rd St, hopes are high for new business ventures. East Coast Saloons two other Philadelphia locations, Tavern on Broad and McFadden's Ballpark are looking forward to a busy season"
East Coast Saloons operates more than 25 bars and restaurants nationwide.
A real estate listing says the landlord is seeking $22,000 a month for the space.
