With the arrival of June comes the Center City location of IndeBlue, Rakesh and Heather Ramola's modern Indian restaurant they started in Collingswood four years ago.
The Ramolas have ramped it up from their BYOB roots. The former Pastoral at 205 S. 13th St. (215-545-4633), across from the old Letto Deli, has been converted into a romantic, low-lit dining room behind a smart-looking marble-topped bar whose back glows different colors.
Designer Robert Bingaman of Haddon Township's Robert Allan Design - an IndeBlue customer in Collingswood - created a study in bronze and browns in the dining room.
Rakesh Ramola's menu includes the classics as well as contemporary spins on Indian fare, such as osso bucco pork vindaloo. Entree prices start at $17, and there's great pains taken to identify gluten-free and vegan items.
It's dinner only nightly for now; lunch and brunch are on the way.
