Opening notes

And a closing note, too.

The mad dash to open that restaurant project in 2011 continues.

New to Media-ites is 320 Market Cafe, a sibling (21 W. State St.) of the Swarthmore original.

Dec. 14 was the finale for Fish at 1708 Lombard St. as Mike Stollenwerk gears for a Dec. 26 relocation to 1234 Locust St. The 1708 location will become Brick American Eatery, but will not open till the new Fish is swimming correctly.

Staff training is underway at Nomad Pizza, 611 S. Seventh St. Its first pizza left the oven this morning, and co-owner Tom Grim says he's given up trying to predict the opening date.

Heirloom, the Al Paris-run American BYOB in Chestnut Hill, opens Dec. 16.

Dec. 17 is the scheduled soft-launch of The Pickled Heron in Fishtown. It's opening hard on Dec. 20.

The new Jake's Wayback Burgers at 9173 Roosevelt Blvd. (Welsh Rd.) is doing its grand opening on Dec. 17 with giveaways.

McKenzie Brew House's swell-looking Devon/Berwyn location - off Route 202 where Charlie Brown's was - is up for the weekend.

Ella's American Bistro in Wayne is up for Dec. 19 officially.

Almost forgot:

Hickory Lane and Lemon Hill in Fairmount are due within two weeks.
