Pat's Steaks starring at Pat's Steaks for fund-raiser with Preston & Steve

Sales will benefit Simon's Fund.

Pat's Steaks owner Frankie Olivieri has been opening up his grill for guest chefs to cook steaks as fund-raisers.

On Sept. 27 from noon to 2 p.m., he'll do one himself at Ninth and Passyunk. He will be joined by Preston Elliott and Steve Morrison of the Preston & Steve morning show on WMMR (93.3).

The Simon's Fund Cheesesteak - aged Provolone chimichurri cheesesteak, wit or witout - will sell for $10 each, and 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to Simon's Fund, which was established in 2005 by Darren and Phyllis Sudman to honor the memory of their son Simon, who died suddenly from an undetected heart condition. Simon's Fund raises awareness about the warning signs and conditions that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death in children.

Anyone who buys the cheesesteak will be entered to win two free field seats to the Thursday, Sept. 29 Beyonce concert at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Pat's Guest Chef Series has seen Jose Garces (Garces Foundation),  Zama Tanaka (PAWS), and Marc Vetri (Vetri Community Partnership) working the grill. On Oct. 19, Michael Solomonov will present a version to benefit Broad Street Ministry.
