One of the more curious restaurant stories of 2015 is Fourth & Cross in Pennsport.

Andrew Michaels spent nearly a year gutting and rehabbing the former Bell’s Delly. He opened Fourth & Cross on June 15 as a corner diner with a farm-to-table ethos. Reviews were good, by and large.

Contending that he was not satisfied with the operation, Michaels shut it down in late October.

Michaels reopened it Dec.1 as a BYOB dinner destination. The new iteration also got good notices for its Goan Spatchocked Cornish Hen and Piri-Piri Braised Persian Lamb Hind Shank, though prices were rather high for the neighborhood.

Now Fourth & Cross is done. Michaels sent word that after dinner service Dec. 21, it will close permanently. See below for the note he texted and posted online.
