Progress reports: Two new restaurants

Jane G's is coming along at 20th and Chestnut, while the unnamed restaurant at Front and Market has a chef.

Just updating a couple of resto projects.

  1. Jane G's, in development since summer 2010, is shooting for a spring opening at 1930 Chestnut St., the art-deco building on the block that also houses El Rey. Owner Jane Guo owned the late Noodle Heaven (where Bliss is now on Broad Street). Jane G's, serving a pan-Asian menu, will be a 125-seater with cocktail bar, open dining counter, display kitchen and dining room.

  2. The forthcoming American restaurant at Front and Market Streets, under heavy construction, still lacks a name but not a chef. He's the Culinary Institute of America-trained Jon Tice.
