Restaurant notes: Out and around

The former Mexican Post and Don Pablo's on the outer fringe of Franklin Mills mall (4501 Woodhaven Rd., 215-637-5151) has new life. It's the handsomely appointed Katie O'Donnell's Irish Pub, equal parts pub, sports bar (with a 140-inch high-def screen), and full-service restaurant. It's a partnership of Ed Bonk and Dave and Sandy Greenhalgh, former owner of Callahan's, who named the place after his grandmother. The property had been closed for four years and represented the end of a two-year legal battle for attorney Bill Morrin.

There's been much Main Line buzz (but previously no solid information) about the forthcoming HogFish Bar & Grill, coming together on the former site of Osaka restaurant in Wayne. So here's the deal: It's a partnership of Ed ONeill, who owns the property and Michael Scartozzi. Menu will focus on seafood from Florida. Signature dish is hogfish, a sweet, mild variety, much like snapper, native to the Keys. They are planning a late May, early June opening. It's an independent restaurant, unrelated to the Florida restaurant of the same name.

And more Wayne: Xilantro, the Mexican at 103 N. Wayne Ave. in downtown Wayne from the crew at Blue Bell's El Sarape as well as Chalfont and Horsham's Los Serapes, is four weeks or so away. Facebook presence is here.

Serafina, the luxe, New York-rooted Italian at 18th and Sansom Streets, is looking at a May 24 grand opening.

The Reporter in Lansdale says the Super Foodtown, which succeeded the short-lived Vidalia Market Place in Lansdale, is about to close.
