Rybrew opens in Brewerytown

The beer is cold and Ryan Pollock has opened Rybrew, his bottle shop/sandwich shop, at 2816 W. Girard Ave. in Brewerytown, across from Butter's.

Pollock's restaurant debut was three years ago with the mainly takeout Rybread at 2319 Fairmount Ave. He and fiancee/partner Stephanie Mertz will use this larger location - a narrow, high-ceilinged onetime toy store with nifty original balcony - as the commissary for both locations.

Full sandwich/salad list, plus drink-in/takeout beer of about 180 types.

Brewerytown is looking up. In a couple weeks, we'll see the debut of Shifty's Taco at 2730 W. Girard, a block away.
