Saxbys Coffee has signed on to open at the southwest corner of 11th and Locust Streets in Washington Square West, already one of the more caffeinated parts of town.

The new Saxbys - to open this summer - will replace a hair salon and dog school and will be nicknamed Saxbys Wash West.

It will be the sixth Saxbys to open in Philadelphia and will serve coffees, Frolattes, fruit smoothies, fro-yo and made-to-order breakfast sandwiches.

The addition of Saxbys Wash West will bring the company to 31 cafes, with an additional eight expected to open in 2014. Here's a recent look at the company by the Daily News' Michael Hinkelman.

The new Saxbys will be a few doors from the soon-to-open Rôti, the French market next to Zinc Bistro.
