South Street: Home of the french fry
The street was never known for haute cuisine anyway.
South Street has never exactly been a haven of fine dining.
Now it looks like it'll become a french fry haven.
Construction work is underway on Paul's, speciallizing in Idaho potatoes, in a storefront at 429 South St., to the left of Bare Feet Shoes. This one seems to be a couple/few months away.
I see that a branch of the Old City frites shop European Republic has hung out its sign at 602 South St. It's due to open in the next week or so.
Not to be outdone, Hot Diggity at 630 South St. is serving poutine, the Montreal-rooted cheese-curds-on-fries dish.
