StarChefs scouring the city
After hundreds of interviews, 10 to 16 food-industry folks will be awarded.
Reps from StarChefs, the culinary-insider mag, are in town this week for a "Rising Stars" focus on Philadelphia. It's their third and final extended visit to Philadelphia, their first in several years.
They've been spotted at Zahav, Will, Le Bec Fin, Rittenhouse Tavern, JG Domestic, Hop Sing Laundromat, Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co., Vernick, Le Virtu, Sbraga, R2L, Talula's Garden, a.kitchen, Square 1682, and McCrossen's Tavern.
StarChefs' Rising Stars are billed as the future of American cuisine. The editorial teams do in-person tastings and interviews in each city with 60 to 100 chefs, pastry chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers. Ultimately, 10 to 16 are chosen.
Expect an award ceremony around February.
