The Palm wants to hand you back your face
When the restaurant closed in February 2016 for a down-to-the-studs demo/renovation, workers carefully peeled more than 500 of the caricatures off the wall. Those who reached out to management to save their mug will now be rewarded, as the restaurant gets ready for a summer reopening.
Hundreds of Philadelphians - and a curious collection of '80s and '90s entertainers - had their faces up on the walls of the Palm Philadelphia at the Bellevue.
When the restaurant closed in February 2016 for a down-to-the-studs demo/renovation, workers carefully peeled more than 500 of the caricatures off the wall. Those who reached out to management to save their mug will now be rewarded, as the restaurant gets ready for a July reopening. The faces were copied and will be redone and reattached.
Caricatures are ready for pickup April 25 and April 26, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Bellevue lobby at Broad and Walnut Streets.
The Palm's new general manager, Paul Sandler, previously GM at the Atlantic City location, will be joined by longtime former GM Jeff Phillips, now chief operating officer.
