The Pass to close as Matt Ridgway moves on

He is headed to a job in what's being labeled as "another city" - though I hear it's not New York or Philadelphia.

Two years in, Matthew Ridgway is shuttering The Pass, his ambitious French roadhouse bistro in a converted general store in Rosemont, N.J., north of Stockton.

Last night will be April 25.

He is headed to a job in what's being labeled as "another city" - though I hear it's not New York or Philadelphia.

Bucks County-bred Ridgway earned his stripes at the Fountain restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philly, and he was Jean-Marie Lacroix's chef de cuisine when the restaurant was named Esquire's Restaurant of the Year.

He was chef de cuisine under Joël Antunes in both Atlanta and New York before he started a charcuterie business called PorcSalt.

The Pass picked up two bells from Craig LaBan.
