Toast pops up with dinner 3 nights a week

It's now offering a health-focused, vegan-friendly, globally inspired dinner menu from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.

The Center City cafe Toast (1201 Spruce St.) is expanding from the breakfast/lunch/brunch world into an all-day cafe.

Starting Oct. 15, it's offering a health-focused, vegan-friendly, globally inspired dinner menu from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.

Chef Samantha Carrie Johnson, who sources her ingredients from local farms, said that in coming months, Toast will feature health-focused/plant-based/raw-food cooking classes and meal-delivery services.

The casual, modern menu features elements of Southeast Asian, Mediterranean and Creole cuisine, and includes such dishes as lemongrass butternut squash soup, baba ghanoush toast, green curry chicken wings, and pumpkin massaman curry.

The farm partnership this week is with Bartram's Garden.
