Victory opens brewpub in Parkesburg
The cleverly named Victory at Parkesburg (3127 Lower Valley Road in Parkesburg) is a big 'un - with seating for 348 people in a fittingly industrial setting with polished concrete floors.
Old buddies Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet just opened their third Victory Brewing Co. brewpub in Chester County, joining other locations in Downingtown (1996) and Kennett Square (early 2015).
The cleverly named Victory at Parkesburg (3127 Lower Valley Road in Parkesburg) is a big 'un - with seating for 348 people in a fittingly industrial setting with polished concrete floors.
It's been an active brewery for two years. The company allows self-guided tours of the brewing, bottling and packaging lines. The plant is EPA-Green Power Partnership accredited.
The main bar on the first floor has a rotating selection of 30 Victory beers on draft, a double-headed growler machine, and a crowler (custom can filling) machine. On the mezzanine, ordering is self-service.
The menu is much like those at the other locations, including hand tossed pretzel with Helles Lager beer mustard and jalapeño HopDevil cheese ($6); shortrib and chuck burger ($11); and mussels steamed in shallots, parsley and Golden Monkey and served with - as the company notes - "enough crusty bread to respect it" ($13). Plenty of vegetarian options, too.
Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
There's also a retail store with beer and beer-y merchandise.
