A mostly rain-free weekend will only help boost the turnout at two events Saturday:
Phair - a weekly open-air market launching Saturday in the park at 23d and Arch Streets - will feature roster of food trucks along with art, crafts, produce and vintage vendors. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The inaugural food truck lineup consists of Made in the Shade, Rival Bros. Coffee Roasters, Sweet Box Cupcake, Zea May's Kitchen, GIGI & Big R, and Poi Dog Philly.
Weavers Way's third annual Fresh & Local Fair on Saturday, May 18 runs from noon to 4 p.m. in Mount Airy with demos, food samples, live music and a Weavers Way Farmer meet-and-greet. It's free.
Water ice with a kick. You like your cherry, your lemon and your chocolate water ice. Noir, a bar at 1909 E. Passyunk Ave., is spiking them, South Philly style. They take water ice and add either house-made cherry-infused vodka or Pollyodd's 'cellos. The cocktails ($6) come garnished with a pretzel rod.
No more chocolate. You have till Friday, May 24 to get to chocolate lounge Golosa (806 S. Sixth St.). It's closing after six years. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.
