Witherspoon gives 'em the slip

The actress and Jake Gyllenhaal make a stealthy escape from Morimoto.

Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal chose not to walk the line Friday night after having sushi at Morimoto on Chestnut Street.

They left out a back door and hailed a cab to take them a block to their SUV's parking space, reports photog HughE Dillon, who saw her as the cab zipped past the restaurant.

Thursday night, the couple did the steak scene at Butcher & Singer at 15th and Walnut Streets.

Friday night -- actually early Saturday -- found Witherspoon's costars Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson lounging on the roof deck at Continental Mid-town.

The stars, here shooting a comedy for James L. Brooks, must have gift cards to the Stephen Starr restaurants or something.

Witherspoon has been at Alma de Cuba on Walnut Street at least twice (once with Rudd and once with Gyllenhaal), and Wilson is a quasi-regular at Parc on Rittenhouse Square. No sightings at the Starr-owned Pod, which is a few blocks from the main soundstage at the armory at Drexel U.

Friday at Drexel, a photog from the paparazzi agency INF Daily captured shots of Witherspoon during a break, as well as her two kids playing.
