Brigadeiros (Brazilian chocolate fudge balls)

Brigadeiros (Brazilian chocolate fudge balls)

Makes 30 fudge balls

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

4 tablespoons cocoa powder, sweetened

1 tablespoon butter

1 cup chocolate jimmies

(sprinkles)

1. Put all the ingredients, except the jimmies, in a saucepan and stir until they are mixed well. Cook on medium-low heat, stirring continuously, until the mixture is very thick.

2. Pour the mixture into a lightly buttered, heatproof glass baking dish. Let cool. Refrigerate for at least one hour.

3. When the mixture is cold, with lightly buttered hands, roll small amounts of the fudge mixture into small balls. Next, roll the balls in the chocolate sprinkles and, for ease in serving, put each one in a mini cupcake paper.
