This summer, Herr's added a kick to its bags of kettle corn: a dusting of crab seasoning from Chickie's & Pete's crab fries. The result is sweet, salty, and a little bit spicy — a combination that's strangely addictive for fans of flavored popcorn.
Chickie's & Pete's created a limited batch of the corn to be sold to crowds at Penn's Landing and on the boardwalk in Wildwood. It was so successful that, according to Herr's, the companies collaborated to turn it into a new regular flavor and started selling it in Wawas and other local stores.
The kettle corn is the second such collaboration between the companies, which last year partnered to make Chickie's & Pete's Famous Crabfries potato chips.
Chickie's & Pete's Sweet and Crabby Kettle Corn tastes sweet at first but finishes with the unmistakable flavors that coat the crab fries at Chickie's & Pete's.
