State police were searching for the driver of a black Volkswagen believed to have struck and killed a 46-year-old man on an I-95 exit ramp in Chester early Saturday.

Ronald Jahmail Williams, of Chester, was killed around 3 a.m. after he parked his vehicle on the Highland Avenue ramp, police said. Williams got out of his car for unknown reasons and was hit by a passing vehicle.

The driver fled the scene south on I-95 toward Delaware. Police described that vehicle as a newer-model Volkswagen with severe damage to the front end and front windshield.

Williams suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police Media barracks at 484-840-1000.
