Seven area tax preparers facing federal charges
Seven Philadelphia-area tax preparers were charged yesterday in unrelated indictments with preparing or filing false income tax returns and/or tax evasion, U.S. Attorney Patrick Meehan announced.
The charges allege such criminal actions as inflating a client's charitable deductions, exaggerating a client's unreimbursed job expenses, falsely reporting personal property taxes, and underreporting earned income, Meehan said in a news release urging taxpayers to use caution when selecting a tax preparer.
Charged were: Kenroy F. Anson of Philadelphia; Eugene DiNatale of Trumbauersville, owner of DiNatale & Associates Ltd. in Rockledge, and Chakawarn Sirirathasuk of Upper Darby, a senior accountant there; Bartholomew Iacono and Regina Iacono-Dostillio of Gentile's Tax Service on South 16th Street; Vivian Calhoun of Green's Tax Service on North 29th Street; and Robert Trauffer of Spring City.
