A 28-year-old woman was killed and her 9-year-old son injured after they were hit by an SUV in Port Richmond on Saturday night, police said.
A silver Dodge Durango driven by a 39-year-old man hit the pair around 8:47 p.m. in the 3500 block of Aramingo Avenue, police said. She was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:19.
Her son was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children and was receiving treatment for a broken leg, police said Sunday.
The driver, whom police did not identify, stayed at the scene and was expected to be charged with driving under the influence, police said.
