Two Lycoming football players from area honored

Two Lycoming College football players from the area received D3Football.com all-East region honors, with defensive end Nate Oropollo (Cardinal O'Hara) earning second-team honors, and linebacker Kabongo Bukasa (Academy Park) placing on the third team.

Two Lycoming College football players from the area received D3Football.com all-East region honors, with defensive end Nate Oropollo (Cardinal O'Hara) earning second-team honors, and linebacker Kabongo Bukasa (Academy Park) placing on the third team.

Bukasa also picked up all-American honors, being placed on the second team by the Beyond College Sports Network.

Other local honorees on the D3Football.com teams were:

Delaware Valley College guard John Lavelle (Father Judge), was named to the all-East region first team, while safety John Robinson (Clearview) and tailback Kyle Schuberth (Monsignor Bonner) earned spots on the first and third teams, respectively.

Ursinus cornerback Chris Rountree (Haddon Heights) was named to the first-team defensive unit on the all-South Region team.

Gettysburg linebacker Larry DelViscio (Monsignor Bonner) earned a spot on the all-South Region team.

Widener tackle Gerry Pacitti (West Deptford) will be cited by the Touchdown Club of Southern New Jersey as one of its college athletes of the year on Dec. 12 in Cherry Hill.

 Women's soccer. Cabrini defender MaryKate McCann (Archbishop Carroll) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) all-Mid-Atlantic region third team.

Other local NSCAA honorees were:

Philadelphia University goalkeeper Kelli Kowalewski (Shawnee) was selected to the all-East region first team, while defender Chelsea Riedell was named to the third team.

St. Joseph's midfielder Mo Hawkins (Cardinal Dougherty) was named to the Division I all-Mid-Atlantic second team.
