Flyers recall Danick Martel, Samuel Morin from Phantoms
Both players are expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night in Brooklyn against the New York Islanders.
The Flyers, losers of five straight games and in desperate need of a spark, recalled left winger Danick Martel and mammoth defenseman Samuel Morin from the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday.
To make room on the roaster, winger Matt Read and defenseman Mark Alt were loaned to the Phantoms.
Martel and Morin are expected to be in the lineup Wednesday night in Brooklyn against the New York Islanders.
The speedy Martel, 22, leads the AHL with 14 goals in 17 games. He has played in 157 games over parts of four seasons with the Phantoms and will be making his NHL debut.
The 5-foot-8, 162-pound Martel was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2015 following a 48-goal, 102-point season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He had 22- and 20-goal seasons with the Phantoms before this year.
Morin, 22, made his NHL debut with the Flyers last season in New Jersey, his only game in the league. He brings size (6-7, 227 pounds) and physicality to a team that needs an identity.
Morin was selected 11th overall in the 2013 draft.
