It took four decades, but the area's perennial basketball power has another all-American as Chester's Rondae Jefferson was named Thursday to the McDonald's All-American Game.
A senior forward headed to Arizona, Jefferson is Chester's first all-American since Herman Harris in 1973. Harris also went to Arizona.
In January, Jefferson was named to the U.S. roster for April's Nike Hoops Summit in Portland, Ore. He has led the Clippers to back-to-back PIAA Class AAAA titles.
The McDonald's game will be played April 3 in Chicago. It will be the third straight year that a Southeastern Pennsylvania boys' player participates.
On Thursday night, Jefferson grabbed 12 rebounds and scored a game-high 20 points as Chester rolled past visiting Chichester, 92-40.
Darius Robinson added four three-pointers in the third quarter to finish with 21 points.
