Before demolition begins on the Spectrum, fans will get another chance to collect any remaining souvenirs.
On Saturday, Comcast-Spectactor will open the arena for a "If You Can Carry It, You Can Keep It" event from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is $25, which includes a commemorative Spectrum crystal, and access to the arena floor.
Items available include folding chairs, used televisions, some office furniture, couches and computer equipment. Items are first-come, first-served. Fans will be allowed to take as much as they can carry (up to four chairs per person) with no re-entry. Tools and hand carts are prohibited. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation.
Tickets can be purchased at the Spectrum beginning at 8 a.m. Fans will be directed to enter the Spectrum from the service tunnel in Lot G by 11th Street.
The Spectrum will be enclosed with protective fencing on Monday in preparation for demolition. It is not expected to affect any parking or access to the Wells Fargo Center, Comcast-Spectacor said.
"We will begin the demolition process by enclosing the Spectrum with protective fencing on Monday," president Peter Luukko said. "The demolition of the arena will commence from the inside as early as Monday or Tuesday. We expect to be working on the exterior by the third week in November."
