David Barnett, the brother of Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett, was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Nashville, Tenn., the Tennessean is reporting.

Area police said they were called to a two-vehicle crash in South Nashville early Tuesday morning. The other vehicle involved was driven by Felipe Castelblanco, who was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication.

Derek grew up in the Nashville area; David was residing in the area at the time of his death. The relationship between David, 33, and Derek, 22, was confirmed by a coach in the University of Tennessee’s football program, where Derek played in college.

After playing in six games, Barnett went onto injured reserve and underwent rotator cuff surgery in late October. He missed the Eagles' Week 5 loss to the Vikings due to injury.
