Eagles’ Jalen Hurts says he has a broken left finger
With the injury to his non-throwing hand, Hurts still completed 25 of his 32 pass attempts and threw for 290 yards in a win against the Steelers.

Jalen Hurts was on the Eagles’ injury report all week as a full participant with a left finger injury.
On Sunday, the extent of that injury became clear. Hurts, in images shared by the team on social media, walked into Lincoln Financial Field with a wrapping of sorts on his left ring finger. NFL Network reported that Hurts was dealing with a broken finger, an injury Hurts later confirmed.

The quarterback wore a glove on his left hand during the Eagles’ 27-13 win. He completed 25 of his 32 pass attempts and threw for 290 yards. But he did commit his first turnover in five games on a play that magnified the injury he’s dealing with.
On the team’s second offensive series, Hurts escaped pressure and scrambled. He cut to his left, toward the Eagles’ sideline, but kept the ball in his right (inside) hand. It was a costly choice, as Pittsburgh edge rusher T.J. Watt delivered a hit that knocked the ball free, a result that may not have happened if Hurts had the ball on his outside arm.
“It is broken and it did impact my play,” Hurts said after the game.
It stands to reason Hurts suffered the broken finger during last week’s win over Carolina.
“It is what it is,” Hurts said. “It’s been at the state it’s at all week. I don’t really want to put too much more into it. I don’t think it got any worse today. If it’s shattered, it’s shattered.”
Outside of the turnover, the finger didn’t seem to slow him down much. Hurts had his best game in weeks. His 125.3 passer rating was his fourth-highest mark of the season and best since a Nov. 3 win over Jacksonville.
