Eagles roster cuts: Eli Ricks, Kyle McCord, and a pair of wide receivers among early cuts
The Birds have begun to make moves to trim their roster down to 53 players ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

The deadline for all NFL teams to trim their rosters down to 53 players is Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Eagles waived cornerback Eli Ricks and former St. Joe's Prep quarterback quarterback Kyle McCord, a sixth-round draft pick back in April.
The team also parted ways with wide receivers Terrace Marshall and Elijah Cooks, as well as a trio of running backs and a pair of tight ends.
The Eagles also reportedly waived guard Kenyon Green, who was acquired in the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade.
On Sunday, the Eagles traded for quarterback Sam Howell. They also traded for offensive lineman Fred Johnson from the Jaguars and sent Darian Kinnard to the Packers.
Ahead of the Tuesday's deadline, here's a look at Jeff McLane's 53-man roster prediction.
Eagles cutting WRs Terrace Marshall and Elijah Cooks
The Eagles are cutting wide receivers Terrace Marshall and Elijah Cooks, NFL sources said.
Each had moments during the spring/summer, but were also set back by injuries. Still, they faced a tough climb to the 53-man roster despite NFL experience.
Eagles reportedly waive safeties Maxen Hook and Andre' Sam
Maxen Hook, an undrafted rookie who was teammates and roommates with cornerback Quinyon Mitchell at Toledo, did not survive the Eagles' initial roster cuts, according to a report. Andre' Sam, was also reportedly released and planned to be brought back on the practice squad after spending most of last season on it.
Reports: Eagles waive RB ShunDerrick Powell
According to multiple reports, the Eagles are waiving running back ShunDerrick Powell, the third running back they've let go of on Monday.
Eagles cut CB Eli Ricks
Eagles cut former St. Joe's Prep QB Kyle McCord
The Eagles are waiving quarterback Kyle McCord, a source confirmed to The Inquirer. Fox Sports was first to report McCord’s release.
The writing was on the wall for McCord to be cut prior to Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline after the Eagles traded with Minnesota for Sam Howell on Sunday.
McCord, a sixth-round pick out of Syracuse, started and played the entire game in Friday’s preseason finale, but the Mount Laurel native struggled and did not look ready to play NFL snaps right away. That realization is pertinent because backup quarterback Tanner McKee is dealing with a finger injury on his right hand that may have him out of action for next week’s season opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Eagles reportedly release a pair of tight ends
According to a pair of reports, the Eagles are parting ways with tight ends E.J. Jenkins and Nick Muse.
That leaves Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Kylen Granson as the top three tight ends on the team's depth chart.
Report: Eagles waive RBs Montrell Johnson Jr. and Keilan Robinson
Eagles reportedly waive Kenyon Green
The Eagles traded starting safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson for Texans guard Kenyon Green and a pick swap. It appears all they'll be left with is alternate pick, as the team will reportedly waive Green ahead of Tuesday's deadline to trim rosters to 53 players.
