Bob Kelly and Simon Gagné will be the two newest inductees into the Flyers Hall of Fame, the team announced Wednesday. They will be the 29th and 30th members honored in the Flyers Hall of Fame and the first members inducted since the 2023-24 season.

Gagné, 46, played 11 seasons over two stints with the Flyers, including five as an alternate captain. The two-time All-Star scored 47 goals in 2005-06, 41 goals in 2006-07, and his 264 goals are the 10th-most in Flyers history. Gagné, who twice won the Bobby Clarke Trophy as the team’s MVP, famously scored the winning goal in Game 7 of the Flyers’ second-round series against Boston in 2010, as the Flyers completed a historic reverse sweep and eventually reached the Stanley Cup Final.

“Being inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame is such an honor and something I never imagined when I first came to Philadelphia as a young man,” said Gagné in a statement. “The Flyers and the city were such an important part of my career and life. I’m incredibly grateful for the teammates, coaches, staff, and fans who made my time here so special and created some of the most memorable moments in my hockey career. To have the opportunity to join the legends who came before me is something I’m extremely proud of, and wearing the Orange and Black will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Bob Kelly, also known as “The Hound,” was a member of the Broad Street Bullies, winning Stanley Cups in 1974 and 1975, and scoring the Stanley Cup-clinching goal in Game 6 in 1975 . One of the Flyers’ most notable enforcers, he is tied for the eighth-most games played in Flyers history (741) and ranks seventh in franchise history in penalty minutes with 1,285. Since his retirement, he remained active in the organization as Ambassador of Hockey, before retiring from that role in 2025.

“This is truly something I never thought possible and to be recognized this way by the organization is one of the highest honors of my life,” Kelly, 75, said in a statement. “To have my name alongside so many great players and people who have helped shape the Philadelphia Flyers means more than I can put into words. Philly is more than just my home. Over the years, my teammates, colleagues, and the fans I’ve been fortunate to meet and teach the game of hockey have become like family. I am deeply grateful to the Flyers organization and this city for their unwavering support throughout what has been an unforgettable journey.”

The new Hall of Famers will be honored on Feb. 27 ahead of the Flyers’ matchup with San Jose.
