RALEIGH, N.C. — Flyers center Noah Cates’ status for Game 3, at least, of the team’s series against the Carolina Hurricanes is in question after he suffered an apparent foot injury Monday night.

Minutes after the Flyers’ 3-2 overtime loss, Cates trundled on a cart down a hallway here at Lenovo Center past several reporters. He was holding a walking boot that would have fit his right foot.

The Flyers, through a spokesman, declined to comment.

Cates, who has a goal and three assists in the Flyers’ eight games this postseason, logged more than 20 minutes of ice time in Game 2. He scored a career-high 18 goals, had 47 points, and appeared in all 82 of the team’s games during the regular season.

The Hurricanes hold a two-games-to-none lead in the second-round series. Game 3 is Thursday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
