Sean Couturier a late scratch for Flyers’ Saturday night game against the Islanders
The center was listed as having a lower-body injury.
Flyers center Sean Couturier was a late scratch for Saturday night’s game against the Islanders.
Couturier, the league’s top defensive center, was listed as having a lower-body injury. He was not on the league’s COVID-19 protocol list released late Saturday afternoon.
Michael Raffl, who sat out of Thursday’s game after playing the previous two, was back in the lineup.
NBC Sports Philadelphia reported that Couturier participated in the pregame skate. Couturier missed 10 games earlier this season with a rib injury. The Flyers managed to go 5-3-2, but three of those wins were against New Jersey and Buffalo, the division’s weakest teams.
The Islanders jumped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the first period with three goals in five minutes.
